Mario’s dedicated to his family of four and values helping the homeless. We sat down with Mario to learn more about him and his time with Heaven Hill.
What do you love most about working at Heaven Hill?
The family atmosphere and feeling like you’re an employee that matters.
Tell us an accomplishment you are most proud of in your career.
My management experience during COVID – including labor and inventory shortages – are some of my proudest accomplishments, and I feel something that prepared me well for this position at Heaven Hill. We rolled up our sleeves, and made it work.
Looking ahead, what are some things that you’re really excited about?
I’m looking forward to learning the system in a better capacity and meeting the new people I will interact with.
What is your all-time favorite book and why?
The Great Brain series. I read them when I was a kid, and I always felt like the character was ahead of his time.
What are three things you can’t live without?
My wife and two kids – even though they drive me crazy. I have a son, Kale, who is seven, and daughter, Sage, who is 6. My wife’s name is Samantha. Traveling and money to do so are a close second. 😊
What would you like to be remembered for?
For being inspiring. I want to be known for being a good person. Sometimes I look at estate sales, and it’s funny. You go into some of these houses, and these people have the nicest things in the world, until they pass away. Life’s not about possessions. I want to be remembered for being a good person.
Tell us about an organization or cause you are passionate about.
I’m passionate about helping the homeless. When I see a homeless person, I give them money and things they need. Anyone can be homeless if they’ve been dealt a bad hand.
Using three words, how would you describe #lifeatHeavenHill?
Cool, Family and Bourbon.
