Heaven Hill Launches Cinerator Hot Cinnamon Flavored Whiskey

BARDSTOWN, Ky. – Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. will launch Cinerator Hot Cinnamon Flavored Whiskey in May. This growing segment of the liqueur category has been stoked by consumers’ interest in all things spicy and hot. Cinerator fuses hot cinnamon flavor with the smoothness of American Whiskey in a 91.1 proof liqueur. Served as a chilled shot or mixed, the growing sub-category of spicy and hot products has set the industry aflame.

Cinerator adds a dramatic look and added kick at 91.1 proof to this highly sought after segment of liqueurs. Consumers will be drawn to the stand out look of a red hot label set ablaze by flames and packaging which is a clear and modern representation of the product attributes. Available both on-premise and at retail and with an approachable price point, the result is a new product with just the right amount of attitude at a time when flavors, specifically flavored whiskeys, are on fire.

Carlos Lozano Named Heaven Hill On-Premise National Accounts Manager

BARDSTOWN, Ky. – Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. announces the appointment of Carlos Lozano to lead the On-Premise National Account Division. In this role, Lozano will be responsible for strategically leading the On Premise National Account Channel for the nation’s largest, independent family-owned and operated supplier. The position reports to Steve Feller, Vice President of North American Sales.

Lozano possesses over 20 years of experience in the wine and spirits industry. His extensive national account background includes managing portfolios for Diageo North America and Pernod Ricard USA. Most recently, he was Director of National Accounts for Monin Gourmet Flavorings.

“Carlos has a rich and successful background in On-Premise National Accounts,” said Steve Feller, Vice President, North America Sales. “His experience and leadership provide a tremendous opportunity for our portfolio’s continued growth in On-Premise National Accounts. Company Only the Second Continuously Operated Distillery to Reach Historic Number

BARDSTOWN, Ky. – Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., the nation’s largest independent family-owned and operated distilled spirits producer and the world’s second-largest holder of aging Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, today celebrated the filling of Bourbon barrel number 6.5 million. Heaven Hill is only the second continuously operating Bourbon producer, and the only private family-owned company, to reach the historic benchmark.

“It is indeed a proud day for our company and our extended Heaven Hill family,” said Heaven Hill Distilleries President Max L. Shapira. “We have throughout our history recognized the filling of our milestone barrels with a ceremony such as this, but the fact that it is less and less time between these occasions is a testament to the remarkable growth and popularity of Bourbon. And this has not only benefitted our company, but also Bardstown, Nelson County, and the Commonwealth in general. This occasion is made all the more special in that it is personally overseen by two generations of my family and two generations of the family of our Master Distillers, Parker and Craig Beam.”

No one could foresee the many changes and tremendous growth that lay ahead for both Heaven Hill and the Bourbon industry from when the company was founded just after Prohibition ended to their latest milestone barrel today, but the company remains true to its original mission as a family-owned and operated, independent Kentucky company—the last remaining in the Bourbon business today. Heaven Hill now has around one million aging barrels of Kentucky Bourbon in their inventory, the second most in the world, and their flagship Evan Williams brand is the second largest selling Bourbon in the United States and the world.

The 6.5 millionth barrel was “bunged off” by sixth- and seventh-generation father and son Master Distillers Parker and Craig Beam in a brief ceremony at Heaven Hill’s cistern room attended by company executives and local dignitaries. An acclamation from Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear was also presented. The barrel was then moved to Rickhouse “Y” where it will rest alongside the other Heaven Hill milestone barrels in a special display where visitors to Heaven Hill’s Bourbon Heritage Center may view them.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The newest vintage of Evan Williams Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the 2003 edition, is now available on retail shelves and at fine bars and restaurants nationwide.

Heaven Hill, the nation’s largest family-owned and operated independent spirits producer and the world’s second-largest holder of aging Bourbon, offered a sneak peak of the 18th vintage in the landmark series to spirits writers and critics nationwide, and the acclaim is resounding. Cigar Aficionado praised the “…long, sweet finish” while Whisky Advocate, in awarding it both “Value Pick” and “Editor’s Choice”, stated that the 2003 vintage is “…proof that a bourbon doesn’t have to be old, high in alcohol, or expensive to be good.”

The world-renowned Single Barrel Bourbon from 6th and 7th generation father and son Master Distillers Parker and Craig Beam has garnered many prestigious awards since it was introduced in 1994. “Even though the mashbill—the grain recipe—is the same from year to year, we try to achieve a particular flavor profile with each vintage,” noted Parker Beam. “As this is our 18th vintage in the Evan Williams Single Barrel series, we feel like we have got the process of determining the taste profile and finding barrels that meet that profile pretty much perfected. This vintage is maybe a bit softer, with barrels drawn mostly from the middle floors of three of our best ventilated rickhouses.”

As with the previous 17 vintages, which are now highly sought after collector’s items, each bottle of the 2003 edition of Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon is marked with the exact date that it was placed in oak and bottled, in addition to the exact serial number of the single barrel from which it was drawn.

Very small batch bottling taps into popularity of barrel strength and high proof Bourbons

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., the nation’s largest family-owned and operated independent spirits producer and the world’s second-largest holder of aging Bourbon, today announced the March release of a special bottling of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

The limited edition release, which will be allocated to markets nationwide that currently offer Elijah Craig, takes advantage of both the surging popularity of high end Bourbons and American Whiskeys, and the trend toward high proof or barrel strength bottlings. It also leverages the critical acclaim for Elijah Craig Bourbon and the high regard with which critics and aficionados hold the brand, which is a past winner of Whisky Magazine’s “Best of the Best” Bourbon, Whisky Advocate’s “Best Buy Whiskey of the Year”, and Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The new Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Small Batch Release will begin shipping in mid-March to retailers and fine restaurants and bars in nearly every market nationwide, though quantities are limited and strictly allocated. With a national average retail price of $39.99, the new expression of the famed Elijah Craig brand represents a real value for a 12 year old, barrel proof Bourbon, and is expected to be in high demand. In addition, the release will forgo traditional chill-filtering, meaning all the natural esters and taste components from the barrel are preserved, giving the Bourbon a particularly rich flavor and mouthfeel.

The new release will be offered in the traditional distinctive Elijah Craig flask-style 750ml bottle, with the familiar oversize cork stopper and Elijah Craig signature blown into the front of the glass. Available in a three bottle case, the new release will carry a dark brown version of the cartouche-style Elijah Craig label, with “Barrel Proof” highlighted in red and hand written proof/alcohol by volume information, which will vary from one dump to the next. The proof of the initial release will be 134.2, or 67.1% alcohol/volume. A shelf talker will also be offered to retailers to highlight the brand in today’s cluttered premium Bourbon array.

The new, proprietary Admiral Nelson’s bottle features a traditional bulbed neck design atop a tapered body resulting in a more modern, premium look. In addition, it features blown in stars around the shoulder reminiscent of a compass rose. The new front label features an enhanced version of stylized legendary naval officer Admiral Nelson and jagged edge reflective of the brand’s distinct personality. BARDSTOWN, KY – Burnett’s Flavored Vodka has added two flavors to the innovative product portfolio. The two new flavors are Cherry Cola and Strawberry Banana. With these new additions, the portfolio now includes 31 flavors.

Burnett’s Vodka Reveals New Look 

Leading US Vodka brand presents clear new look.

BARDSTOWN, KY – The Burnett’s Vodka franchise has developed a new label design. The new design more clearly presents the product in an upscale package. The upgrades will be rolled out throughout spring 2013 across all sizes and flavors of the Vodka franchise. 

The new 80 proof label repositions and enlarges “Burnett’s Vodka” and the brand’s crest – better presenting the product’s clarity and quality. It retains the “Quadruple Distilled for Superior Smoothness” tagline describing the Vodka inside. Likewise, each of Burnett’s 33 flavors now has an enlarged and repositioned flavor image and descriptor. The change more effectively communicates the all-natural flavor types. The product will retain the premium glass bottle with the blown-in Burnett’s crest on the back. 

The fresh look of the Burnett’s label reflects a shift in the product’s equities. Since its launch, Burnett’s has become one of the leading Vodka franchises in the United States. In that time, the product has grown to be recognized for quality Vodka and a leading selection of flavors. The new labels more effectively communicate the recognized quality and flavor. 

“Burnett’s Vodkas has experienced incredible growth for over ten years,” said Burnett’s Vodka Senior Brand Manager Reid Hafer. “In that time the perception of the product has grown to equal the quality of the premium Vodka. The fresh, new look for Burnett’s communicates impeccable quality and the premium nature of the product.”

The launch of the new package is supported by updated POS featuring the “Always Your Favorite/Flavorite” campaign and includes national consumer advertising, out-of-home and off-premise POS.  The Burnett’s website (www.burnettsvodka.com) also provides information and drink recipes for all the flavors.

Heaven Hill Distilleries, ALS Association Join Forces to Honor Master Distiller Parker Beam

6th Generation Bourbon Legend to Spearhead Fundraising Efforts Through Promise Fund and Fall 2013 Edition of Parker’s Heritage Collection

BARDSTOWN, KY—Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. will be working with the ALS Association to promote awareness and fundraising for efforts to battle the disease, in the early stages of which legendary 6th Generation Master Distiller Parker Beam has been recently diagnosed.

Heaven Hill and Parker Beam plan to dedicate this upcoming Fall 2013 edition of Parker’s Heritage Collection, the highly anticipated and highly regarded limited annual release of rare American Whiskeys, to raising funds for the ALS Association. Heaven Hill plans to earmark $20 from the sale of every bottle of the next Parker’s Heritage Collection release for donation to the ALS Association, and projects that a minimum of a quarter of a million dollars will be raised.

Beam, who is a charter member of the Bourbon Hall of Fame and a grand-nephew of James Beauregard “Jim” Beam, has been crafting some of the world’s most critically acclaimed whiskeys—first with his father, Earl, and now with his son, Craig—at Heaven Hill for over 50 years. Diagnosed with ALS in the past year, Parker Beam is continuing to work and contribute to Heaven Hill’s and the Bourbon industry’s rising profile. He will continue to personally select the barrels used for his namesake Parker’s Heritage Collection bottlings.

The ALS Association has established a special fund, known as the Parker Beam’s Promise of Hope Fund, into which $20 for each bottle of next fall’s Parker’s Heritage Collection sold will be donated (www.alsa.org/ParkerBeamPromiseofHope). Although the details and quantities of the next Parker’s Heritage Collection release will not be made public for some time, Heaven Hill expects to produce sufficient quantities to generate in excess of $250,000 to aid in research to combat a disease which affects over 30,000 Americans at any given time.

“Both my wife Linda and myself have become very involved in the ALS Association and in raising awareness of the disease since I was diagnosed with it,” noted Parker Beam. “We are pleased to be helping in any way we can and are most appreciative to Heaven Hill and the Shapira family for helping with such a generous financial contribution from the sale of the upcoming edition of Parker’s Heritage Collection. We hope that others will become more aware of ALS and will find additional ways to help us in our fight.”
