As National Marketing Manager, Jason Merz works to bring the Deep Eddy Vodka brand to life and bring people together safely through activations and events across the country and in the brand’s hometown of Austin, Texas. Here he tells us why he loves the family-owned culture of Heaven Hill, the passion his colleagues bring to their work, and why he enjoys being part of our team.
What do you love most about working at Heaven Hill?
The family-owned culture extends to all those that I have the pleasure of working with. We’re all passionate about our work, supporting our brands and one another. That’s not common among most organizations and I am grateful for it.
Tell us an accomplishment you are most proud of in your career.
I’m most proud of the people I’ve met, the strong relationships that I’ve forged and maintaining those relationships across different companies / roles / industries – supporting each other as we all grow and seek to do meaningful work in our own lives no matter where or what that may be.
Looking ahead, what are some things that you’re really excited about?
Using the Deep Eddy Vodka brand as a meaningful catalyst to bring people back together (safely)., hopefully doing so in a way that inspires an appreciation for the richness of life spent in the company of others in real life.

What is your all-time favorite book and why?
“The Celestine Prophecy.” This book taught me about self-awareness and consciousness in a way that I hadn’t considered before reading. It allowed me to see that the world is not static and that each of us has a choice in how we experience life – as well as how we can create a new, better world for those around us.
Using three words, how would you describe #LifeAtHeavenHill?
Fun. Rewarding. Family.
