Heaven Hill Distilleries Adds Cindy Mouser, Director of Supply Chain

BARDSTOWN, KY. – Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. has hired Cindy Mouser as Director of Supply Chain. In this role, Mouser will manage and streamline supply chain logistics for the nation’s largest family-owned and operated distilled spirits producer and marketer. Heaven Hill’s supply base reaches beyond 50 suppliers securing more than 5,500 different items. She will report directly to Joe Fraser, Vice President of Operations.

Mouser joins Heaven Hill with twenty eight years of experience in operations, global logistics, materials management, production planning, and inventory control. Previously, she was the Materials and Logistics Manager for Tower International in Bardstown, Ky. Prior to that, she was employed by Logan Aluminum where she worked in production planning.

“We are very pleased to have someone with Cindy’s experience and working knowledge of planning, materials management and logistics best in class practices,” said Vice President of Operations, Joe Fraser. “Better planning and managing our very complex in bound and out bound materials and finished goods flow will lead to reduced costs, better customer service and ultimately result in a more nimble and agile supply chain.”

Mouser attended Spalding University with a focus in Business Administration. She currently resides in Bardstown, KY.

“Parker Beam Promise of Hope Fund” nightly Bourbon tastings at famed NOLA restaurant honors stricken Heaven Hill Master Distiller

NEW ORLEANS, LA. – Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., is teaming up with Tales of the Cocktail® and Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House in New Orleans to support the ALS Association’s “Parker Beam Promise of Hope” fund, honoring Heaven Hill’s Master Distiller Emeritus Parker Beam, who was recently diagnosed with ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease.  Nightly Bourbon tastings at Bourbon House will run throughout Tales of the Cocktail®, on Wednesday, July 17th through Saturday, July 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The four nightly tastings, which are an official part of the Tales of the Cocktail® event and will be promoted in the Tales of the Cocktail® materials and social media, will feature several of Heaven Hill’s most critically acclaimed Bourbons, with all proceeds going to the ALS Association’s Parker Beam Promise of Hope fund.  Heaven Hill’s Master Distiller Craig Beam–Parker’s son–and Heaven Hill American Whiskey Brand Ambassador Bernie “The Whiskey Professor” Lubbers will be on hand to pour and discuss Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon, Elijah Craig 12 Year Old Small Batch Bourbon, and Henry McKenna Bottled-In-Bond Single Barrel Bourbon.  In addition, all participants will receive a special Parker Beam t-shirt with their first purchase.  Bourbon House will be open for normal business during this promotion and it will not be limited or require pre-registration—walk-in traffic is encouraged to participate as well.

Second Largest Selling Bourbon in the US and the World Modernizes its Look

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., the nation’s largest family-owned and operated independent spirits producer, announces a packing update to its Evan Williams family of Bourbons and Bourbon Specialty brands. Evan Williams, which is the United States’ and the world’s second-largest selling Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, is introducing the updated look across the flagship Black Label brand, the Evan Williams Reserve line of flavored Bourbons, the Evan Williams Green Label and White Label “Bottled-In-Bond” marques, as well as the seasonal Evan Williams Holiday Nog and Evan Williams Apple Orchard bottlings.

The change will affect the 1.75 liter, 1.0 liter and 750ml sizes for Evan Williams Black Label, Evan Williams White Label “Bottled-In-Bond”, and the flavored Evan Williams Reserves. It will also replace the 750ml sizes of Evan Williams Holiday Nog, Evan Williams Peppermint Chocolate Holiday Nog, Evan Williams Apple Orchard Fall Seasonal Liqueur, and Evan Williams Green Label. Both the Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage and Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch Bourbon packages will be unaffected by this change.

The centerpiece of the packaging upgrade is the new proprietary bottle, which now features a reproduction of Evan Williams’ actual signature from an 1800 distilling license blown into the glass on all four sides of the squared off bottle shoulder. The shoulder label, which used to sit where the signature now is, has been removed and the “Extra Aged/Sour Mash” copy that appeared on the old shoulder label has been added to the neck wrap.

The Evan Williams Bourbon family is named after Kentucky’s first commercial distiller, who set his still up in 1783 at what is now 6th and Main Streets in Louisville. Evan Williams has grown to become the number two selling Bourbon brand nationally and globally, and has also received tremendous critical acclaim, including a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and “Best Buy Whiskey of the Year” from Whisky Advocate magazine. Heaven Hill Distilleries Names Chuck Summers On-Premise National Accounts Regional Manager

Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. has added Chuck Summers as On-Premise National Accounts Regional Manager. In this role, Summers will be responsible for brand distribution and promotional opportunities for the Heaven Hill portfolio within key national on-premise accounts. The position reports to Carlos Lozano, On-Premise National Accounts Division Manager.

Summers has over 30 years of experience in the spirits industry. Prior to joining Heaven Hill, Summers managed On-Premise National Accounts for the Patron Spirits Company. He has also worked in on-premise national accounts with Moet Hennessy USA and Allied Domecq Co.

“Chuck brings both successful and diverse on-premise national accounts experience,” said Steve Feller, Vice President, North American Sales. “He will be a valuable addition to our On-Premise National Accounts team.”

Summers is a graduate of Youngstown State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He resides in the Dallas metro area.

BARDSTOWN, Ky. – Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., the nation’s largest independent family-owned and operated distilled spirits producer and the world’s second-largest holder of aging Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, today celebrated the filling of Bourbon barrel number 6.5 million. Heaven Hill is only the second continuously operating Bourbon producer, and the only private family-owned company, to reach the historic benchmark.

“It is indeed a proud day for our company and our extended Heaven Hill family,” said Heaven Hill Distilleries President Max L. Shapira. “We have throughout our history recognized the filling of our milestone barrels with a ceremony such as this, but the fact that it is less and less time between these occasions is a testament to the remarkable growth and popularity of Bourbon. And this has not only benefitted our company, but also Bardstown, Nelson County, and the Commonwealth in general. This occasion is made all the more special in that it is personally overseen by two generations of my family and two generations of the family of our Master Distillers, Parker and Craig Beam.”

No one could foresee the many changes and tremendous growth that lay ahead for both Heaven Hill and the Bourbon industry from when the company was founded just after Prohibition ended to their latest milestone barrel today, but the company remains true to its original mission as a family-owned and operated, independent Kentucky company—the last remaining in the Bourbon business today. Heaven Hill now has around one million aging barrels of Kentucky Bourbon in their inventory, the second most in the world, and their flagship Evan Williams brand is the second largest selling Bourbon in the United States and the world.

The 6.5 millionth barrel was “bunged off” by sixth- and seventh-generation father and son Master Distillers Parker and Craig Beam in a brief ceremony at Heaven Hill’s cistern room attended by company executives and local dignitaries. An acclamation from Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear was also presented. The barrel was then moved to Rickhouse “Y” where it will rest alongside the other Heaven Hill milestone barrels in a special display where visitors to Heaven Hill’s Bourbon Heritage Center may view them.

Leading US Vodka brand presents clear new look.

BARDSTOWN, KY – The Burnett’s Vodka franchise has developed a new label design. The new design more clearly presents the product in an upscale package. The upgrades will be rolled out throughout spring 2013 across all sizes and flavors of the Vodka franchise. 

The new 80 proof label repositions and enlarges “Burnett’s Vodka” and the brand’s crest – better presenting the product’s clarity and quality. It retains the “Quadruple Distilled for Superior Smoothness” tagline describing the Vodka inside. Likewise, each of Burnett’s 33 flavors now has an enlarged and repositioned flavor image and descriptor. The change more effectively communicates the all-natural flavor types. The product will retain the premium glass bottle with the blown-in Burnett’s crest on the back. 

The fresh look of the Burnett’s label reflects a shift in the product’s equities. Since its launch, Burnett’s has become one of the leading Vodka franchises in the United States. In that time, the product has grown to be recognized for quality Vodka and a leading selection of flavors. The new labels more effectively communicate the recognized quality and flavor. 

“Burnett’s Vodkas has experienced incredible growth for over ten years,” said Burnett’s Vodka Senior Brand Manager Reid Hafer. “In that time the perception of the product has grown to equal the quality of the premium Vodka. Nick Coglianese Named Wisconsin Area Manager for Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc.

BARDSTOWN, KY – Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. has promoted Nick Coglianese to Wisconsin Area Manager. He will be responsible for management of the entire Heaven Hill product portfolio in Wisconsin. In this new position he will report to Heaven Hill Regional Manager Bruce Jacobson.

In his previous role with Heaven Hill, Coglianese was Area Manager Downstate Illinois and On-Premise Area Manager Chicago.

“Nick’s experience with Heaven Hill will be a great addition to Wisconsin,” said Steve Feller, Vice President, North American sales for Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. “His success and background in Illinois will serve him well.”

Coglianese graduated from Roosevelt University. He will reside in Milwaukee.
