John Roby Recognized for Remarkable 59 Years of Service at Bernheim/Bardstown Awards

We recently got to celebrate the dedication of exceptional Bernheim and Bardstown team members who were honored with 2024 Years of Service and Perfect Attendance awards.  These moments of recognition are not just about numbers of years served or days worked; they represent the heart and soul of our company—our Heaven Hill family.

Our employees from Bernheim and Bardstown were invited to two special evenings of celebration at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience (EWBE) and Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience (HHBE). The events began with cocktails, followed by delicious dinners and awards presentations hosted by Co-Presidents Kate and Allan Latts. These nights provided an opportunity to recognize the incredible years of service and perfect attendance of our team in 2024.

A total of 10 Bernheim employees and 58 Bardstown employees were recognized for their long-standing commitment to Heaven Hill, recognizing the loyalty that helps our company thrive. Additionally, 15 team members from Bernheim and 51 from Bardstown were celebrated for achieving perfect attendance in 2024. Showing up dependably each day speaks volumes about the reliability and vital role each of these team members hold within our Heaven Hill Brands team.

Special Recognition for the Wonderful John Roby

John Roby, who has dedicated an impressive 59 years to Heaven Hill, was honored for his above-and-beyond years of service at the HHBE celebration upon his recent retirement. John’s commitment to the company is unparalleled—he’s been here longer than our Executive Chairman, Max Shapira! Throughout his tenure, John has taken great pride in his work, always striving to ensure everything looked its absolute best. He’s known for his consistency, reliability, and strong work ethic.

John’s journey began in the small Heaven Hill bottling operation “down the hill” before he moved to the main bottling house in the 1960s. John later left the company briefly to bravely serve the United States in the Vietnam War. Upon returning from his service, John returned to Heaven Hill which is an undeniable testament to his commitment to the company. His dedication has made him a beloved figure among his colleagues, not just for his hard work, but for his sense of humor as well.

Chris Pardieu shares a fond memory of working with John:

“John would often joke about his seniority, especially whenever he needed something repaired or a tool for his area. One day, a tool had gone missing from his machine, and John, with his usual wit, reminded me of his seniority and asked me to retrieve it for him. I couldn’t help but ask, ‘How long have you been with Heaven Hill, John?’ He proudly stated his start date, and I replied, “You must have been here when they laid the first brick on the building.’ He smiled and said, ‘Almost.’”

After an incredible 59 years of service, we wish John all the best in his well-earned retirement and his exciting new adventures ahead.

As we celebrate service and perfect attendance awards, we feel immense pride in our team. At Heaven Hill, our team members who show up with passion, dedication, and excellence every single day are core to our success.
