Say Hello To Jennie Wait, Deep Eddy Vodka Assistant Field Marketing Manager
How long have you been part of the Heaven Hill family?
Four years
What’s inspiring you in life right now?
My husband and friends in the music industry. The past 16 months have been incredibly difficult, but watching them keep each other afloat, both mentally and financially, while managing to find ways to stay creative and productive has been nothing short of inspiring. I’m looking forward to some great new releases and am excited to buy tickets to live shows again!
Tell us about an organization or cause you are passionate about.
The SIMS Foundation has been close to my heart for years, and my admiration for the work they do has multiplied exponentially since Deep Eddy became partners with them in 2020. I, personally, rely on music for so much. To inspire me, to sympathize with me, to make me happy, hopeful, calm, nostalgic… While it might seem sexy and glamorous, people in the music industry often face unique and difficult challenges. SIMS works tirelessly to provide affordable, in most cases free, mental health and substance recovery care to the Austin music industry. This is extended not only to musicians, but to crew, industry professionals, venue staff, and their families. Through education, community partnerships, and accessible managed care, SIMS seeks to destigmatize and reduce mental health and substance use issues, while supporting and enhancing the wellbeing of the music community at large.
Which Heaven Hill corporate value do you relate to most and why?
Acting with integrity has and will always be important to me in all aspects of my life. I believe in being honest with myself and others and that it’s important to stand up for what I believe in.
What’s your favorite Heaven Hill memory?
I’ve built up a pile of great memories in my four years with Heaven Hill, but the standout memory is probably Country Queens and Refried Dreams at Deep Eddy NSM 2019.
What’s one thing people may not know about you?
I was a cheerleader for six years (3x All American, for my NCA guys and gals!). I don’t think this is that interesting but my husband says it will be “shocking” because I’m “not cheery” and “don’t put off the vibe” that I “can flip.”
What’s your favorite time of day?
Weekdays, 8/9pm; Weekends, 8/9am
What are three things you can’t live without?
Strong friendships/relationships, My Grammy’s advice and words of wisdom, and Music, to be general, but these three albums: Continuum – John Mayer, Live at the Austin Outhouse – Blaze Foley, Swimming – Mac Miller
What would you like to be remembered for?
I would like to be remembered as someone who always shows up. Someone that was thoughtful, caring, helpful, and mostly kind with a little bit of grit. 😊
