HR Spotlight: Wrap Up

HR Spotlight: Wrap Up

HR’s Mission is to support employees and partner across all functions of the business to drive value for the company through optimization of our human resources. To do this, the team will foster an environment that attracts, rewards, develops and retains top talent, proactively manages a high-performance work culture and continuously evolves with business needs.

In achieving this mission, HR will pursue excellence in the areas of talent acquisition and diversity, total rewards, talent development and employee experience.

Historically, the HR service model adopted a generalist approach, where HR team members were cross-trained on many activities in the department. As our business has grown, we will evolve this model to one that leverages Strategic Business Partners and Centers of Excellence.

Strategic Business Partners

We introduced Tammy Robbeloth, HR Director of Productions & Operations, who provided an overview of the new Strategic Business Partners structure, of which she is part. Strategic Business Partners collaborate with teams on a daily basis and partner with senior leaders to develop proactive talent strategies to allow us to meet our growth plans.

Our Strategic Business Partners currently include Tammy for Production and Operations and Emma for Legal & Compliance, Information Technology. HR is currently recruiting a partner for Finance, Sales and Marketing.

Tammy’s team includes two HR Generalist, Operations positions – one held by Johnnie Jackson and another in recruitment – and an HR Business Partner in Operations, also in recruitment.

Centers for Excellence

The leaders of our Centers of Excellence include Director, Total Rewards Bill Grover and Director, Talent Development Sandhya Mutreja. The team is currently recruiting a Director, Talent Acquisition & Diversity.

Bill described the function of Total Rewards as our team that designs and executes pay and benefits programs to reward and recognize employees throughout their careers at Heaven Hill. With Mary Ellen Mattingly’s recent retirement, Bill’s team now includes Manager, Payroll Rebecca Gross, Benefits Analyst Megan Bashore and Compensation Analyst Sami Dada.

In a video focused on Talent Development, Sandhya discussed the three areas of focus for her team – Learning and Development, Performance Management and Talent Management. Talent Development includes the programs and processes for how we set goals, measure success, offer ongoing learning and development and move employees through the organization over their careers. Sandhya’s team is poised to grow to include positions like performance analyst, facilitators and instructional designers in the future. For now, her team includes Learning & Development Manager Jacob Raderer.

The Talent Acquisition & Diversity team will focus on attracting and identifying qualified, diverse talent to join Heaven Hill. This team currently includes Recruiting Manager Josh Eckhardt. He will report to the director position.

We hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know the HR team this week and learning where we are headed in the future. As we hire for our remaining open positions, we will share more about these new leaders and their areas of focus.
