Say Hello to Reed Bowden, IT Support Analyst
How long have you been part of the Heaven Hill family?
I have been with Heaven Hill for just under 3 years.
What’s inspiring you in life right now?
My daughter! She inspires me to explore, learn, … and of course to be the best Dad I can be. She is seven months old and an absolute joy to have in my life. It is incredibly rewarding and fun to see her learn and experience things for the first time!
Tell us about an organization or cause you are passionate about.
Wildlife Conservation, specifically, the Disney Conservation Fund. I got to see their work firsthand while I was employed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. The fund raises money to help create habitat, rehabilitate, protect and teach about endangered species all over the world. Working closely with the animals during my time at Disney gave me a great understanding and respect for wildlife around the globe. It taught me the importance of protecting them not only for the health of the world, but for future generations to enjoy as well.
Which Heaven Hill corporate value do you relate to most and why?
Continuous Improvement. I’m always learning and trying to be the best version of myself that I can be — not only at work, but at home too. I think it is the value that enhances the others.
What’s your favorite Heaven Hill memory?
Running in the Bourbon Chase! There is nothing like driving across Eastern Kentucky, with some of the best people, crammed in a van just so you can run for 20 some miles in a 24-hour period. What a blast.
What’s one thing people may not know about you?
I used to work for the Walt Disney Company! Just before I came to Heaven Hill, I worked in Orlando at Walt Disney World for just short of two years. I got to work at Animal Kingdom as a safari driver and Hollywood Studios in Toy Story Land. At the Kilimanjaro Safari, it was my job to give truck tours to 30-40 guests at a time, driving them around the safari and telling them about the amazing animals we got to see. It was an experience I will never forget. I met my wife there too!
What’s your favorite time of day?
Early mornings, and bonus points if it’s a foggy morning. I enjoy the calm before the world gets its day started.
What are three things you can’t live without?
Am I allowed to just say my Wife, Baby, and Dogs? I’d be lost without them… and what else do you need other than family?
What would you like to be remembered for?
I try my best to be someone people can rely on, to be optimistic and to hopefully brighten their day. I’d like to be remembered for that.
