Hand Sanitizer Production Underway Across Heaven Hill Facilities

Video Password: heavenhillbrands

Heaven Hill is dedicated to doing everything we can to help our local communities during this unprecedented time. As circumstances surrounding COVID-19 escalate, so does the need for important supplies such as disinfectant, soap, and hand sanitizer. There is an overwhelming need across our communities and the requests continue to grow. Luckily, distilled spirits manufacturers have been deemed essential businesses in most communities across the country. While we continue to produce beverage alcohol, our teams have stepped up, adding hand sanitizer production to their daily duties. Our team is proud to help out, knowing the hand sanitizer they’re working to produce could go to a friend, neighbor, or family member working in the medical field, as a first responder, or in a high risk capacity.

As a family owned and operated company for 85 years, Heaven Hill has a long history of supporting our local communities. Distilleries have the capacity to address a critical need to combat coronavirus and we take great pride in providing assistance during a time like this. – Max Shapira, President of Heaven Hill

Hand sanitizer production is now underway at several Heaven Hill facilities. While the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience in Downtown Louisville and Deep Eddy Vodka Tasting Room in Austin, Texas closed in mid-March, they are now dedicated to hand sanitizer operations through hand production, hand bottling, and hand labeling. In terms of bulk production, the bottling lines in our Bardstown facilities, and Deep Eddy Vodka’s Buda, Texas facilities are being utilized for hand sanitizer production and bottling. Production at the Black Velvet distillery in Lethbridge, Canada will begin soon.

We have made impressive progress since beginning production just a couple of weeks ago. Below are the recent production stats from each facility:

Evan Williams Bourbon Experience

  • Filled 10,000 100ml
  • Filled 600 750ml

Bardstown

  • 3,000 cases of 200ml bottles
  • Moving quickly on second batch of 3,000 this week
  • 48 bottles per case, which at 3,000 cases means 144,000 200ml bottles or 28,800 total liters produced

Dripping Springs, Texas

  • 150 gallons worth of one gallon jugs
  • 1,800 100ml bottles worth

In total, Heaven Hill has produced an impressive 40,500 liters of hand sanitizer since March 23. These production numbers will continue to increase rapidly over the coming weeks as we continue to fulfill demand in local communities. We’re extremely proud to have the ability and opportunity to help our communities, specifically supporting healthcare facilities, first responders, and high-risk populations.
