Each year during the holiday season, Heaven Hill takes the time to give back to its community by volunteering with The Salvation Army. This year over the course of three days, 28 Heaven Hill employees in Bardstown took turns ringing the bells as part of the charity’s iconic red kettle program. Heaven Hill joined this effort three years ago when Mark Pulliam, Chief Financial Officer, gathered his staff to volunteer as a teambuilding activity.

“It’s a great way to give back and you really see how excited the community is to make donations to this cause,” says Mark Pulliam. “Participating in this effort perfectly compliments the company’s philanthropic mission and it’s an honor to see our employees getting excited about making a difference.”

It wasn’t long before Mark’s passion for the project encouraged other teams throughout the organization to join them, including Jeff Crowe GM of Visitor Experiences and his team at the Bourbon Heritage Center.

“I am honored to be part of a company who believes in community and giving back and makes that part of their mission as a company,” Jeff says. “It’s so exciting to see our team volunteering their time each year, keeping this annual tradition alive.”

Team members that participated this year included Debbie Kays, Alyssa Jones, Sandi Smith, Danielle Mattingly, Mark Pulliam, Jeff Crowe, January Maloney, Vanessa Edelen, Paige Clements, Bobby Lee, Megan Reynolds, Katie Ulrich, Julie Johnson, Teresa Boyd, Ann Marple, Cindy Metcalf, Kelvin Haynes, Bill Renn, Gwen Simpson, Marsha Holt, Kathy McCubbins, Stacy Clements, Dee Dee Bell, Rose Ann Hagan, Annette Cecil, Donna Burba, and Gail Hall.

Mark is excited for the future of the program, seeing nothing but opportunity for growth in the coming years. Although he is retiring, Mark plans to continue joining his Heaven Hill family year after year as they volunteer their time to this worthy cause.

“I will definitely come back to participate with Heaven Hill again in the future,” Mark says. “It’s amazing to see how much our efforts have grown in just three short years since we began participating. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

Heaven Hill is proud to make philanthropy a focus of our company mission and was honored to give back this holiday season with The Salvation Army.
