Bernheim Distillery in Downtown Louisville, Kentucky Protocol
Heaven Hill facilities will now require health screenings including a health questionnaire and temperature check for all employees. Per existing policy, no employee is allowed to travel between Heaven Hill sites, unless approved by a member of the Executive Leadership Team for a specific purpose necessary to perform their job responsibilities.
Currently, most screenings will be conducted by GardaWorld, a third-party security company. All screenings will be kept confidential. Screening protocol will vary at each location depending on the number of entrances and employees. See below an outline of screening protocol for the Bernheim facility:
There will be two screening stations at the Bernheim Distillery – one at the main entrance for those reporting to the distillery and one at the warehouse entrance near the railroad tracks for those reporting to the warehouse. GardaWorld will conduct screenings at the distillery main entrance while another third-party company called Decisive Action will conduct screenings at the warehouse entrance for the time being. Both parties will wear proper PPE to ensure employee safety.
As employees arrive, they will enter their normal parking area and remain in their vehicle until approached by a third-party health screener. The health screener will conduct a health questionnaire and take the employee’s temperature. If the temperature is above 100.4 F (38 C) the employee will be asked to pull to an assigned space and remain in their vehicle until a re-test can be performed about 15 minutes later. Based on the outcome of the health questionnaire and the temperature scan the health screener will provide direction on entering the facility or proceeding home and informing their supervisor of the situation.
