Bourbon for Backpacks: $10,000 Raised for Dallas Students

Heaven Hill recently sponsored a new event, “Bourbon for Backpacks” as an extension of our ongoing commitment to being great corporate citizens in the communities where our team members live and work. Market Manager, North Texas Eimear May created and hosted the event to raise funds for students in her local market. Overall, the event was a huge success, raising $10,000 for Community Partners of Dallas.

At the event, Brand Ambassador Bernie Lubbers performed with his band, Bourbon Thru Bluegrass. Members of the Dallas Bourbon Club spent the night enjoying the live music, tasting bourbon and participating in an auction – all for a worthy cause. Donations raised at the event were presented to the Community Partners of Dallas with the ultimate goal of providing students in the Dallas area with school supplies they need to thrive.

Eimear first had the idea for the event when she toured the Community Partners facility and was moved by the work that they were doing to support those in need in the Dallas community. Eimear realized the great opportunity for Heaven Hill Brands to partner with the organization and reached out to Community Relations & DEI Coordinator LaPrecious (LP) Brewer to make it happen. There are plans to continue the event into the future, potentially bringing in distributor partners and increasing Community Partners volunteer opportunities for Heaven Hill team members in the area as well.

No matter where you’re located, Eimear and the Community Partners team welcome you to get involved. The organization is currently collecting donations toward their children’s coat drive.
