For four years, Philip Ritchie has helped create the welcoming experience guests enjoy every day at the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience, often without ever stepping into the spotlight himself. As Facilities Manager, Philip oversees the janitorial crew and works behind the scenes to ensure every space reflects the pride and care that define Heaven Hill hospitality.

That quiet dedication recently earned Philip the “Behind-the-Scenes” category honor at this year’s Stave Awards.

Philip’s path to Heaven Hill started with an unexpected conversation. After helping a friend’s wife following a car accident, she mentioned an opening at Heaven Hill. What began as a simple recommendation quickly became a career opportunity that changed his life.

Since joining the team in 2021, Philip has become known for his steady work ethic, humility, and commitment to keeping the Bourbon Experience running smoothly for both guests and team members.

While surprised by the recognition, Philip said the award made him reflect on how meaningful the journey has been.

“It makes all the hard work worth it,” Philip shared. “I take pride in what I do every day, and this recognition makes me feel like it’s all paid off.”

Philip says one of the most rewarding parts of his role is seeing the wide variety of people who visit the Bourbon Experience each day and knowing he plays a part in creating a memorable environment for them.
