Deep Eddy Vodka Leads Effort to Feed Hundreds in Need during Winter Storm
As this week’s winter storm brought layers of snow and ice, record low temperatures, impassable roads and left millions without power across Central Texas, Deep Eddy Vodka sprang into action.
A grassroots effort the team began early in the week attracted over $100,000 in combined contributions from Deep Eddy Vodka and local businesses to provide free warm meals across the city. Almost 50 restaurants joined the effort to feed residents through the weekend.
Our Deep Eddy team also fielded and responded to requests for assistance from individuals and businesses across the city – providing food, water, heaters, transportation and household items like battery packs and blankets.
Meanwhile, the distillery had to close for four days due to inclement weather, reopening on Friday.
Messages of gratitude from local residents poured in on Instagram. Posting a photo of her lunch, @victoriaaallen, who said she had been without power for two days, said, “Thank you so much to @deepeddyvodka for this, & to @hopdoddy, @lildoddy for being so awesome! Ya’ll rock our socks!”
User @kimmetry posted, “@deepeddyvodka for mayor,” and mars_barstx said, “This is how you support both the local restaurant scene and feed hungry Austinites! Cheers!”
“I am so incredibly proud to work alongside the best of the best,” said Associate Field Marketing Manager Jennie Wait. “There has been a lot of heart behind these efforts that hasn’t gone unnoticed within our organization, and it won’t go unnoticed to our community.”
