Eater features Elijah Craig as the go-to Bourbon for the classic Old Fashioned cocktail
Eater & Elijah Craig present the history of the classic cocktail, plus heat maps of where to find the best Elijah Craig Old Fashioneds
Recently the Elijah Craig team partnered with Eater.com to further position the product as the go-to Bourbon for the classic Old Fashioned cocktail. Earlier this year the brand announced its new marketing campaign, the Elijah Craig Old Fashioned Program. This new positioning is supported through off-premise marketing materials including displays, floor bins, tear pads, and an Old Fashioned instructional video featuring Bar Manager and Author Jeffrey Morgenthaler. Additionally, the brand launched POS materials such as bar mats, bar caddys, mixing glasses, and napkin caddys to support the program in the on-premise space. Through its partnership with Eater, Elijah Craig was featured in a national article titled Why the Old Fashioned is Such an enduring Classic, which takes a deep dive into the history and versatility of this simple, yet elegant cocktail. The author takes the reader through the evolution of the Old Fashioned from pre-Prohibition through present day, detailing why bartenders love the drink and how they are creating unique renditions using new, fresh ingredients. To compliment the article, Eater has created three Old Fashioned heat maps that consumers can use to discover which restaurants are using Elijah Craig to create varying styles of the cocktail. The maps focus on three of the cultural epicenters of the United States – Los Angeles, California; New York, New York; and Atlanta, Georgia spanning across the country. Each map features a fun excerpt giving the reader a glimpse of what the Old Fashioned looks like in that city and the style of cocktail they can expect to find, all featuring Elijah Craig as the base spirit.
