EWBE Supports the Local Community through Sidewalk Chalk Art

Evan Williams Bourbon Experience partners with local artist to create supportive mural

During these unprecedented times it’s more important than ever for our communities to unite and support one another. Art in the form of banners and murals has appeared throughout the Louisville community featuring messages of inspiration and hope people can turn to, promoting unity throughout the city. We’ve also seen other examples of this sort of positive outpouring in communities throughout the world.

The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience is working with the Mainstreet Association to spread positive messaging while supporting the local community. The EWBE partnered with local artist Cortlan Waters Bartley to create a sidewalk chalk mural just outside the front doors featuring the following saying, “Here for the Helpers, the healers, and the heroes.”

This project is part of a larger effort to spread positivity up and down Main Street through sidewalk chalk murals. The EWBE is proud to support the Louisville community through this effort showing that Main Street is still active and supporting its neighbors.

Main Street is the heartbeat of our city and we want to continue showing support for our neighbors and the community we call home. We’re proud to spread positivity through this and other efforts while also supporting a local artist. – Jeff Crowe, General Manager of Visitor Center Experiences

In addition to commissioning this mural, the EWBE has shown its support for the community by producing hand sanitizer for healthcare workers, first responders, and at-risk populations and changing the lighting color on the facade of the building to green. This change is in support of fellow Kentuckians and Americans, representing solidarity and compassion during the COVID-19 outbreak.
