Heaven Hill Begins Two-Year Rollout of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy

Our DEI Journey

While we are still in the beginning stages of our DEI journey, much work has already been done to get us to this point. Our organization always tries to do the right thing for employees, potential employees, customers, distributor partners and our community. However, we recognize that we have more work to do.

Over the past year, as both our executive leadership team and cross-functional teams have worked behind the scenes to develop our strategy, we’ve also focused internally, extending training and other cultural learning opportunities to our Heaven Hill family. Meanwhile, we also directed efforts outside the organization, helping to drive conversations around DEI and working with influential community groups.

 

Our DEI Vision and Strategy

The vision we have established for our DEI strategic objective is to Foster a respectful, diverse and inclusive workplace that supports our employees, customers, consumers and communities.

To achieve this Vision, we have identified four strategic areas of focus where we know we can make a real impact and that you have also told us are important to you.

Workplace Diversity

Objective: Recruit and hire from a diverse, qualified group of candidates to increase diversity of thinking and perspective.

Actions:

  • Establish and implement a DEI measurement and analysis approach
  • Audit and adjust the current hiring process through the lens of DEI
  • Audit and adjust the current recruitment process to ensure we are reaching and appealing to a diverse and highly-qualified pool of candidates
  • Expand our position qualifications to attract a more diverse pool of talent
  • Implement formal interview/hiring training for all managers
  • Implement a standardized early career/internship program

 

 

Workplace Equity and Inclusion

Objective: Foster a culture that encourages collaboration, flexibility and equity so that all employees may contribute to their full potential.

Actions:

  • Better define and bring awareness to the Heaven Hill culture
  • Create a current, up-to-date and inclusive employee handbook

 

Diversity in Marketing and Sales

Objective: Create more diverse and inclusive marketing and sales strategies.

Actions:

  • Review marketing programs and identify opportunities to create more inclusive branding (trade and consumer marketing)
  • Further understand how consumers engage with our brands, how the consumer base is changing and continue to identify and assess opportunities for new consumer groups

 

Community Engagement & Philanthropy

Objective: Identify and break down systematic barriers to full inclusion by embedding DEI into a more cohesive Community Engagement and Philanthropy strategy.

Actions:

  • Build a corporate citizenship plan grounded in our DEI effort
  • Establish a clear focus for our Philanthropy and Community Engagement
