Heaven Hill Leaders Bernie Lubbers and Conor O’Driscoll Inducted into the Prestigious Order of the Writ
Heaven Hill Brands is proud to announce that Bernie Lubbers, National Brand Ambassador, and Conor O’Driscoll, Master Distiller, have been inducted into the Order of the Writ – Spirit of Kentucky Bourbon Society. This esteemed society, established by the Kentucky Distillers’ Association in 2019, honors individuals whose dedication, expertise, and contributions uphold Kentucky Bourbon’s heritage, integrity, and global reputation. Bernie and Conor were recognized at the recent 2024 Ceremony of Induction in Frankfort, Kentucky, joining an exclusive group of just over 150 members.
Order of the Writ is a selective society that celebrates the spirit of Kentucky Bourbon, emphasizing education, responsible stewardship, environmental commitment, and scholarship. To join, candidates must be nominated by one of the founding council members, known as The Fifteen, and gain unanimous approval. Each member exemplifies the highest standards in promoting and developing Kentucky Bourbon, with a minimum of five years of distinguished service to the industry.
“The Order of the Writ is evidence that Kentucky Bourbon is worthy of the same recognition and reputation enjoyed globally by the world’s other great spirits – Scotch and Cognac,” said Chris Morris, an industry executive who serves as the Governor of The Order of the Writ.
The Order’s limit of 1,776 members honors the pioneering spirit of Kentucky’s early settlers, and members, known as Holders of the Writ, are entrusted with promoting and defending the legacy of Kentucky Bourbon.
Bernie and Conor’s commitment to Heaven Hill’s legacy and the Kentucky Bourbon industry exemplifies the values of the Order of the Writ. As Holders of the Writ, they join influential leaders, including Heaven Hill’s own Max Shapira, in advancing the tradition, hospitality, and authenticity of Kentucky’s iconic spirit.
