Heaven Hill Named Most Awarded U.S. Distillery at 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition
We are thrilled to announce that on October 4th, Heaven Hill was recognized as the Most Awarded U.S. Distillery at the prestigious 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, bringing home over 90 medals across our portfolio. Among the highlights, our brands received multiple Best in Show awards and Double Gold medals, further showcasing the exceptional quality we strive for.
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition was founded in 2000 and has become a premiere tasting competition judging more than 6000 spirits this year. All spirits were tasted over four days through a controlled blind tasting by expert panelists. No information on brand, producer, or price point is given out prior to tastings to ensure each is judged fairly and without bias.
Key Awards Include:
- Best Single Barrel Bourbon – 11 Years & Older: Elijah Craig 18-Year-Old Single Barrel
- Best Straight Bourbon: Elijah Craig Barrel Proof C923
- Best Wheated Bourbon: Larceny Barrel Proof A124
- Best in Show Unaged White Spirit & Best Mezcal: Mezcal Vago
- Best Hard Tea: Deep Eddy Vodka
Our brands shone across multiple categories, with Evan Williams and Elijah Craig taking home 7 and 6 medals respectively. Other strong showings came from FEW and Widow Jane, which collectively earned 12 medals.

Another standout from this year’s competition was Mezcal Vago, which took home Best in Show Unaged White Spirit and Best Mezcal. This collection of artisanal mezcals from Oaxaca has been gaining recognition for its diversity and craftsmanship, and recently earned top honors at the New Orleans Spirits Competition.
The leadership and expertise of Master Distiller Conor O’Driscoll continue to be a driving force behind these accomplishments. Under his guidance, we carry forward Heaven Hill’s nearly 90-year tradition of excellence in whiskey production and aging, ensuring our legacy endures for future generations.
