Heaven Hill Springs Distillery Construction is Well Under Way
We are on track to start making whiskey in our new Heaven Hill Springs Distillery, located in Bardstown, KY, by the end of 2024! Phase I of construction has been taking place since our groundbreaking ceremony earlier this year. The site is coming together beautifully.
Ultimately, Phase I of building the Heaven Hill Springs Distillery will result in an initial production capacity of 150,000 barrels/year. Eventually, after the completion of Phases II and III (occurring over the next ~10 years), the Heaven Hill Springs Distillery production capacity will match Bernheim Distillery’s current production capacity of 450,000 barrels/year.
The Heaven Hill Springs Distillery project team is committed to making the new site the best that it can be.
“We are concentrating on all underground equipment now so that we can pour foundations,” Distillery Manager Adam Ganoe said. “An upcoming milestone we are looking forward to this spring will be erecting the steel structure of the distillery.”
The team’s ongoing planning discussions include building out the distillery’s live yeasting component and workshopping sustainability concepts, including the Heaven Hill Springs Distillery Woodland.
The Heaven Hill Springs Distillery Woodland will serve as an educational space on white oak trees with a goal of enhancing the understanding of and appreciation for the benefits and diversity of white oak forests. In the coming year, team members will finalize the plan for the number, species, and placement of trees to be planted.
In the spirit of being hospitable members of the Bardstown community, the city where our great Heaven Hill legacy began, the project team created a website for neighbors near the construction site to ensure they are informed.
