Heaven Hill Surpasses $1 Million Raised for The ALS Association Kentucky Chapter

Heaven Hill Brands has contributed over $1 million to The ALS Association Kentucky Chapter, in honor of Master Distiller Emeritus Parker Beam.

The milestone contribution, generated partially on cumulative sales of Parker’s Heritage Collection, represents funds raised individually by Heaven Hill.

“We are so appreciative of Heaven Hill’s ongoing support of our mission,” said Helen Overfield, Executive Director of The ALS Association Kentucky Chapter. “This generous donation significantly impacts what we’re able to do for our patients and the resources and support we are able to provide to them.”

Parker joined the Heaven Hill family in 1960 as a sixth-generation distiller. He became Heaven Hill Master Distiller in 1975, earning numerous awards for distilling, aging and selecting some of the world’s most acclaimed Bourbons.

In 2010 he was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. He waged a very courageous and public battle with the disease, until he passed away on January 9, 2017. During his fight he was dedicated to raising awareness for the disease, fundraising for ALS research and treatment through the Parker Beam Promise of Hope Fund that he established with his wife, Linda.

Heaven Hill launched Parker’s Heritage Collection in 2007. Since 2013, Heaven Hill has contributed a portion of proceeds from each Parker’s Heritage Collection bottle sold to the ALS Association. The amount per bottle each year varies. We released the 14th edition of Heaven Hill in 2020, a 10-Year-Old Heavy Char Bourbon, and the 15th edition will be released this upcoming September.

Donated funds support the Care Services Department at The ALS Association Kentucky Chapter, which provides durable medical equipment, support groups throughout the state and other critical resources to over 250 patients across Kentucky every year.

With the 2021 Parker’s Heritage Collection on the horizon, Heaven Hill is committed to continued support for Kentucky ALS patients.

“When Parker was first diagnosed, he was committed to using his ‘rockstar’ status to bring attention to ALS,” said Kristen Willinger, Brand Manager. “We plan to continue what he started, by continuing to support ALS and keeping Parker’s legacy alive.”
