Introducing Deep Eddy Farm to Vodka Trucking
Deep Eddy Vodka is known for its innovative, immersive field marketing programs such as the Dive-In Tour featuring vintage Airstream Trailers. We’re excited to announce Deep Eddy’s most All-American, Austin-Proud field marketing program yet – Farm to Vodka Trucking.
The Farm to Vodka Trucking Program features a fleet of seven authentic 1960’s and 1970’s farm trucks in various makes, models, and colors, each with its original exterior paint and the patina and wear that come from years of hard work. Just like Deep Eddy Vodka, each truck is truly authentic and unique with its own history. We’re excited to write a whole new chapter for these trucks, starting with naming each after a strong Austin, Texas woman, further connecting them to Deep Eddy’s roots:
Lady Bird: 1962 GMC
Ann: 1970’s Ford F250
Named after Ann Richards, forty-fifth governor of Texas. Learn more about Ann Richards here.
Babe: 1974 International Camper
Named after Babe Zaharias, Olympic gold medal winner in track and field, All-American college basketball player, and champion golfer. Learn more about Babe Zaharias here.
Bessie: 1972 Ford Custom Ten Deluxe
Named after Bessie Coleman, the first African American and Native American woman pilot. Learn more about Bessie Coleman here.
Selena: Ford F100 Ranger XLT
Named after Selena Quintanilla, beloved Latin recording artist known as the ‘Queen of Tejano Music.’ Learn more about Selena Quintanilla here.
Barbara: 1970 Ford F250
Named after Texas Congresswoman Barbara Jordan, the first black woman elected to the Texas state senate and the first black Texan in Congress. Learn more about Barbara Jordan here.
Betty: 1970 Ford F250
Named after Deep Eddy Vodka’s very own strong Austin woman.
This program creates a compelling way to connect the consumer with Deep Eddy Vodka’s core product differentiator, the use of real fruit, while also tying to the brand’s mission of bringing people together. In previous programming, real fruit was displayed in crates surrounding the product to emphasize the use of real fruit. The Farm to Vodka Trucking Program doubles down on this concept with each truck featuring a draft system of taps for sampling with displays of the real fruit used to make each product above the taps. Additionally, each truck features a unique air horn and a photobooth in the front cab, completing the Farm to Vodka Trucking experience.
While we are so excited for this program to bring people together through a unique sampling experience, that is not a feasible option under the current circumstances. That said, the Farm to Vodka Trucking Program will kick off by giving back to local communities as part of the Deep Eddy Cares philanthropic initiative. Each truck will be equipped with items such as bottles of Deep Eddy Cares branded hand sanitizer, Personal Protective Equipment including face coverings, and self-care items such as lip balm. When the program launches, consumers will find the farm trucks in unexpected places like hiking trail heads, lakes, and other outdoor spaces where people can safely enjoy themselves during this time.
“This entire program was really a team effort,” said Jason Merz, National Field Marketing Manager. “I had the original idea, but the field marketing team worked together to bring it to life and Jennie Wait suggested we name each truck after a strong Austin woman. Although we cannot currently activate this program at accounts for sampling like we originally planned, we’re excited to present Deep Eddy in a new way that consumers may not have seen us before. This philanthropic element brings a whole new meaning to Heaven Hill’s mission of responsibly enhancing the enjoyment of life for consumers.”
Once it is safe, The Deep Eddy Vodka sales team will activate the Farm to Vodka Trucking Program at accounts across the United States. The Field Marketing Team is currently hosting virtual training sessions with the Sales Team to ensure they are prepared to activate this program when the time is right. Until then, the Field Marketing Team will utilize the trucks for philanthropic programming through Deep Eddy Cares. This pivot in programming is a perfect example of how our teams are living out the Heaven Hill core value of Nimbleness.
