Say Hello to Jose Morales, Spirits Specialist, Deep Eddy Vodka
Tell us about your day to day. What does a day in your life look like?
I’m in my third week with Heaven Hill. I’m a Spirits Specialist for Deep Eddy Vodka, and over the past couple of weeks I’ve had the chance to visit the Deep Eddy Vodka Distillery and learn more about the day-to-day operations. Sometimes my day includes time in the lab mixing various beverages and ingredients to try and find the perfect Deep Eddy Vodka cocktail.
What do you love most about working at Heaven Hill?
I’m a people person, so I really enjoy the opportunity to meet all kinds of people at the Deep Eddy Vodka Tasting Room, while serving as an ambassador on behalf of the company. I also enjoy participating in the mixology side of the business and discovering new ways to highlight the brand.
Tell us an accomplishment you are most proud of in your career.
Honestly, this moment in my career is the highlight. I get to bring together my 15 years of experience as a professional musician with my love for Austin, in addition to my experience in the alcohol distribution and marketing industry. I feel very lucky to be able to put all of my passions and experience to work together.
Looking ahead, what are some things that you’re really excited about?
I’m excited to learn more about Heaven Hill and Deep Eddy Vodka. I’m looking forward to the summertime in Austin, when everyone comes out to visit the distillery, take tours and, overall, just enjoys their Deep Eddy Vodka experience.

My favorite artist right now is Yussef Kamaal.
What is your all-time favorite book and why?
“Jonathan Livingston Seagull,” by Richard Bach. The message is about how we can all be so much more than we ever thought.
