Hello Heaven Hill: Monthly Employee Q&A Series
Say hello to Rick Logan, Bottling Line Supervisor at the Heaven Hill Bardstown Plant. Check out the series of questions below to learn a bit more about Rick.
How long have you been part of the Heaven Hill family?
I started at Heaven Hill on August 27, 2012, so almost eight years.
What’s inspiring you in life right now?
I’m inspired by the growth of my children into young adults, in their careers and with starting families.
Best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t allow others to control the direction of your life. Don’t allow your emotions to overpower your intelligence.
Tell us about an organization or cause you are passionate about.
Being passionate about specific organization is not part of my personality, but I am learning to be compassionate. That may cautiously lead me to be passionate about an organization in the future.
What’s your favorite Heaven Hill memory?
My favorite Heaven Hill memory is the Employee Appreciation Day 2012, soon after I was hired. Production was shut down, a video was made and uploaded to YouTube, a live concert for each shift, and a festival like atmosphere through each shift. These acts and events let me know that employees of Heaven Hill are appreciated.
What’s one thing people may not know about you?
I enjoy doing photography, especially for friends and family events, such as birthdays and weddings.
What are three things you can’t live without?
Three things I can’t live without would be love, my children and grandchildren, and my private time.
Window or aisle seat? Why?
I’m a window seat person. I find flying to be boring, so I would rather have a view than a headrest to look to look at.
What is a skill you’re working on mastering?
A skill I’m working on mastering is smoking meat. I enjoy making my own rubs and brines, and I also like using different woods and techniques.
What’s your favorite pastime?
My favorite pastime would be riding my bicycle, creating personal challenges for myself.
