Say Hello to Stacy Clements, Corporate Accounting Manager

How long have you been part of the Heaven Hill family?

8.5 years.

What’s inspiring you in life right now?

My kids… all the kids. I think they are handling this global pandemic better than most adults.

Tell us about an organization or cause you are passionate about.

Christmas is my absolute most favorite time of year.  That magical feeling during the entire holiday season rejuvenates my soul! I want every family and child to experience that same feeling. That’s why my entire family is big supporters of the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. Several years ago as a way for our Accounting team to give back to the community we started organizing bell ringing shifts for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign during the holidays. The money collected in those kettles serves our local community, not only by providing toys to children at Christmas but also by feeding the poor, providing coats during the winter and homeless shelter among numerous other programs all year long.

Which Heaven Hill corporate value do you relate to most and why?

I’m an Accountant. Of course integrity feels right to say here, and it is.  Integrity will always be at the core of what I do daily. But something I’m relating to most right now is continuous improvement. With the tremendous growth we’ve seen in recent years, it’s been imperative for us to evaluate all of our processes. “We’ve always done it that way” is a bit of a taboo thing to say these days.  There’s no room for complacency as we look toward the future. The business is evolving  rapidly, so it’s important that we are in a constant state of evaluating what we are doing, why and how can we do it better?

What’s your favorite Heaven Hill memory?

I started at Heaven Hill about 9 months before opening the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience. Getting to be involved in bringing that project to life was so exciting! On the day of the grand opening event there was so much to be done it felt and looked impossible.  The teamwork that I witnessed that day was incredible.  Allan Latts was even there, dressed casually with a box cutter in hand assisting with setting up the retail store.  That was something I would not have expected to see and one of the reasons I love working here so much. No one is afraid to do what is necessary to help our team win!

What’s one thing people may not know about you?

Have you ever heard that quote “you can take a girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl?” I grew up on a dairy farm in a small town just 15 minutes away from the plant in Bardstown.  Farming is hard! I credit my knack for hard work and commitment to those days, but let me say that I am living proof that you can, in fact, take the girl out of the country and the country out of the girl. That life is not for me!

What’s your favorite time of day?

The evening, for sure.  Morning people are the eighth wonder of the world!

What are three things you can’t live without?

My family, my phone and margaritas.  There’s nothing more relaxing than the first sip of margarita (made with Lunazul of course) after a long work week. Can we say vacation in a glass!?

What would you like to be remembered for?

My tenacity,  commitment and desire to see those around me succeed.
