This Week Ahead: Trips to Deep Eddy and Vago
We have an exciting week ahead of us with trips to both Deep Eddy Vodka including the production facility in Buda, TX and the Dripping Springs Tasting Room, as well as Mezcal Vago in Oaxaca, Mexico! Both parts of this week will no doubt be interesting and full of learning experiences. We can’t wait to meet with our Deep Eddy team members and Samson & Surrey partners alike, and where better to do it than in places near and dear to their hearts.
When we commit to traveling, we are known for packing in as many opportunities for connection as possible. This trip is off to an eventful start, as we left for Austin, TX on Friday to host a Duke University Alumni event at the Deep Eddy tasting room on Saturday. This was the second annual event with a turnout of over 50 people. We never regret taking a chance to share Deep Eddy with other Duke alumni – talking about the brand and the history of Heaven Hill.
Deep Eddy Vodka – Advisory and Family Board Meeting
This morning, we’re visiting key accounts on a quick market visit with Regional Manager, TX Josh Chaput. Today and tomorrow, we are at Deep Eddy sites in the Austin area with both the Advisory Board and our family Board of Directors. As part of their onboarding, the Advisory Board is learning about each brand and we’re excited for them to learn about Deep Eddy in the place where it all began. As a bonus, board members from each group will get to know each other for the first time, including having dinner together tonight at a local Austin account. Other trip attendees include Chief Financial Officer Will Rives, Chief Production Officer Debbie Morris, Chief Marketing Officer Matt Blevins, Chief of Staff Brittany Capito and Executive Chairman Max Shapira. Stay tuned for more photos and videos from this part of our trip in the coming weeks – Thank you in advance to Director, Deep Eddy Plant and Tasting Room Marc Cavazos and team for the warm welcome and chance to show both boards around.
Mezcal Vago – Samson & Surrey All-Hands
Later this week, we’re heading back to Mexico, but this time, to the city of Oaxaca to join our Samson & Surrey (S&S) partners for their annual all-hands meeting. We are always blown away by the S&S team’s talent and the attention to detail that pours out of the S&S portfolio. They are truly amazing at what they do! This will actually be our first time visiting the Mezcal Vago Bar in Oaxaca and we’re already sure it will exceed expectations. More to come from the visit and S&S all-hands as well!
Trips like these wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of so many Working Together to Win. We want to share a special thank you to Sr. Manager Corporate Events Kristy Rust and Partnerships & Brand Experience Coordinator Kelsey Lumbreras for making this one happen!
