Bulk Line Installation Update
Heaven Hill Moves Forward with Capital Projects
This week we’re sharing an update on the progress of some of the larger capital projects Heaven Hill has been working on. Our goal in sharing these updates is to illustrate Heaven Hill’s commitment to continuous improvement and growing the business even during unprecedented times such as these.
As many of you know, we are working on a hugely important project – installation of a new bulk bottling line with the goal of improving efficiency, enhancing employee effectiveness, and providing a better customer experience.
Today, we’re excited to share an update on the project, which is nearly complete. Bulk Line construction began mid-summer 2019 with equipment installation beginning in March 2020. The project continued on schedule until April 2020 when important company policies were enacted to ensure employee safety amid the height of coronavirus. Due to new company policies and state regulations, outside service technicians could not travel to or enter the facility to perform power on checks, which were scheduled to begin on April 15. Though 99% of the equipment is installed, an important element called the capsule machine has not yet shipped from Italy due to shutdowns throughout the country. That said, the plant that produced the capsule machine recently re-opened and testing is currently being completed on the equipment. It is expected to ship soon.
As Kentucky continues to make changes to state regulations, work on this project is scheduled to continue. Power on checks are now scheduled to begin on July 6 and commissioning of the bulk line will begin on July 20 (originally scheduled for May 5).
The addition of the Bulk Line will allow the company to keep up with demand for some of its key Core Growth Driver products, give us greater capacity for scale, and provide a space for innovation in the future. We’re excited to continue work on this project and we’re hopeful it will be complete and running soon.
